Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg and Treasury chief secretary Danny Alexander put forward the proposal in interviews on Sunday as a way of allowing parents and grandparents to use their pension fund to guarantee a deposit for their children and grandchildren.

I nearly crashed my car hearing this utterly stupid idea on the radio yesterday on drive home from a day in the real world! Of all the ideas to slither forth this one takes the biscuit!
Glad you (and the car) emerged unscathed, Carmel. Hopefully this idea won’t be taking seriously outside party conference season – or will it?
